ABOUT US
The purpose of Safer Bars Research Study is to determine the effectiveness of the Safer Bars program, a sexual violence prevention program intended to change the way bar staff respond to patron safety concerns and potentially lower the number of calls to law enforcement”. This study is funded by the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse & Alcoholism and National Institutes of Health. Research activities are directed at bars near college campuses in Tucson, Phoenix and Flagstaff, with the goal of recruiting 56 bars across Arizona over 5 years. Bar staff receive incentives for completing surveys and participating in the research study.
